Facade Rendering
Cleaning, Treatment and Finishing
Facade rendering is not simply a cosmetic operation. It is first and foremost a preventive
maintenance measure that protects the building’s structure from moisture, water ingress and
deterioration that worsens over time if left unaddressed.
At COMODO, every rendering project begins with a precise assessment: identification of
defects (cracks, detachment, moisture), condition ofthe substrate, causes of deterioration.
Only then do we propose the appropriate treatment and a detailed quote.
The Steps of a COMODO Rendering Project
01
Visual and Technical Assessment
We inspect the entire facade: cracks, detachment, damp areas, mould, moss. This step determines the preparatory works required.
02
High-Pressure or Chemical Cleaning
Moss removal, degreasing, dirt cleaning. The substrate must be in perfect condition before any finishing product is applied.
03
Treatment of Defects
Filling of cracks with appropriate products, damp-proofing treatment where necessary, consolidation of detached areas.
04
Application of the New Coating
Mineral, organic or lime-based render, or facade paint, chosen according to the substrate and desired finish, in compliance with local planning regulations.
05
Finishing and Site Clean-up
Touch-ups to joinery, joints and window sills. Full site clean-up upon delivery.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should a facade be rendered in Luxembourg?
Generally every 10 to 15 years depending on exposure, render type and environment. Some municipalities require regular maintenance of facades visible from public roads.
What is the cost of facade rendering in Luxembourg?
The cost ranges between €40 and €120 per m² depending on the condition of the substrate, required treatments, and chosen finish. COMODO provides a quote after a detailed visit and measurements.
Does rendering require municipal authorisation?
If the work modifies the color or texture of the façade, municipal authorization is generally required in Luxembourg. COMODO verifies this before starting.
Can rendering and facade insulation be combined in the same project?
Yes, it is even the ideal time. Installing ETICS during renovation avoids paying for scaffolding twice, resulting in significant savings.
