Wood / Zinc / Metal
Mesh Cladding
The Right Material Choice, Precision in Every Installation
COMODO installs natural or treated wood cladding, VMZINC systems (standing seam and cassette panels), metal
mesh facades, and solar shading systems. We master expansion detailing, corner connections, and concealed
fixings to achieve refined architectural finishes.
Our Architectural Façade Systems
Premium materials and technical systems for façades with strong visual identity.
Wood Cladding
Natural or treated timber installed vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.
VMZINC Systems
Pre-weathered or natural zinc in standing seam or cassette panel configurations.
Metal Mesh Facades
Solar shading systems and perforated architectural cladding.
Brise-Soleil Systems
Fixed or adjustable louvers for solar control and façade performance.
Installation Process
01
Technical Studies & Detailing
Analysis of thermal expansion, validation of fixing systems, and detailed layout drawings with strict respect for architectural joints and corner details.
02
Ventilated Substructure
Installation of the primary and secondary framework with mandatory weatherproof membrane. Flatness and vertical alignment checks are carried out. Insulation is integrated where required in hybrid systems.
03
Material Installation
Wood cladding installation (concealed or visible fixings), zinc seaming (sliding standing seams), and metal mesh assembly (adjustable fixing systems). Full photographic traceability throughout the project
04
Finishing & Handover
Flashings, connections, and joint treatments. Final inspection with snagging resolution. Complete as-built documentation delivered, including updated drawings and manufacturer warranties.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which wood species do you offer for cladding?
Natural wood species: larch, red cedar, and Douglas fir (naturally class 3 durable). Treated timber: spruce or pressure-treated pine class 4. Thermally modified wood: ash, poplar, and Accoya®. Finishes available: raw/natural (weathering to a silver-grey patina), stain, saturator oil, or paint. Concealed fixing systems (such as Grossfillex-type systems) or visible stainless steel fixings are available.
How do you manage zinc expansion on façades?
Zinc expands significantly with temperature variations. We strictly follow VMZINC professional guidelines: expansion joints every 6 meters maximum, standing seam installation with sliding clips, and compliance with minimum slope requirements (5% recommended). Installation is carried out on ventilated substructures with mandatory weatherproof membrane protection.
What maintenance is required for unfinished wood cladding?
No mandatory maintenance is required. The wood naturally weathers into a silver-grey patina over time. This is purely aesthetic and does not affect durability (only the surface changes while the core remains sound). If you wish to preserve the original color, a saturator treatment should be applied every 2–3 years. Pressure washing is not recommended, as it damages the wood fibers.
What is the lifespan of a metal mesh façade?
Powder-coated or anodized aluminum: over 30 years without corrosion. Coated steel or Corten steel: over 25 years (Corten develops a stable protective rust patina). Stainless steel: more than 50 years. Manufacturer warranties for coating durability range from 10 to 15 years depending on environmental exposure. No maintenance is required apart from occasional aesthetic cleaning.
