Tarraces
The Natural Extension of Your Home
A terrace extends your living space outdoors, creates a natural transition between the
home and the garden and quickly becomes the heart of family life during the warmer months.
But a poorly built terrace is also a source of problems: tiling that freezes and cracks, timber that warps, water that pools. COMODO prevents these issues through rigorous design and flawless installation technique, tailored to the climatic conditions of Luxembourg and the Province of Luxembourg.
The Terrace Materials COMODO Masters
Large-Format Exterior Tiling
Large-format slabs (60×60, 80×80, 60×120) deliver a contemporary and elegant finish. We exclusively select tiles certified for exterior use, resistant to freeze-thaw cycles. Laid on adjustable pedestals or on a draining mortar bed.
Natural Stone
Slate, sandstone, limestone, granite. Natural stone brings authenticity and character. Each stone is selected for its frost resistance and compatibility with the style of the home.
Timber and Composite
Timber (ipé, teak, treated pine) and composite decking (wood/PVC) offer unmatched visual warmth. Composite has the advantage of near-zero maintenance and superior dimensional stability compared to natural wood.
Exposed Aggregate and Imprinted Concrete
For large surfaces or budget-conscious terraces, exposed aggregate or imprinted concrete offers a durable and attractive solution, with a wide range of possible finishes.
The Technical Details That Make the Difference
Slope and drainage
A terrace without sufficient slope retains water. COMODO applies a minimum slope of 1.5% on all its projects and incorporates drainage systems suited to each configuration.
Sub-base preparation
This is the invisible but most important part. A stable, compacted and draining sub-base determines the durability of the entire terrace. We make no compromises at this stage.
Waterproofing under terraces on slabs or rooftops
For terraces located above a habitable space, we apply certified waterproofing before laying the surface material.
Joints and expansion gaps
Materials expand with temperature variations. Our installations systematically incorporate the necessary expansion joints to prevent cracking and detachment.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cost of a terrace in Luxembourg?
Tiles: between €80 and €180 per m² installed.

These prices include base preparation and installation, excluding any earthworks.

What is the best material for a terrace in Luxembourg?
It depends on your style, usage, and budget. Large-format tiles offer the greatest durability and least maintenance. Composite wood provides a warmer look with minimal upkeep. Natural stone is the most premium option. COMODO advises you based on your specific project.
How long does it take to build a terrace?
For a standard terrace (30 to 60 m²), expect between 1 and 2 weeks of work, once earthworks are completed.

Technically possible for simple surfaces, but mistakes in slope, drainage, or base preparation are the main causes of premature deterioration. COMODO ensures a long-lasting result through professional installation techniques.
